Muffler: Service and Repair

MUFFLER

REMOVAL
(1) Raise vehicle on hoist.






(2) Apply penetrating oil to muffler band clamps and loosen clamps.
(3) Remove fasteners from the muffler hanger and isolato.
(4) Remove muffler.

INSTALLATION
(1) Install muffler to intermediate pipe. Do not tighten band clamps at this time.
(2) Install muffler hanger and isolators. Tighten fasteners to 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.).
(3) Tighten muffler band clamps to 70 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).
