Competitive Driving Tire Usage
Competitive driving puts far more strain on tread elements and produces far more tire-damaging heat and abrasion than normal highway driving. When street tires are used for racing they cannot be expected to last as long as when they are used in highway service. As a result, product warranties on Michelin performance radial tires do not apply when they are used in competitive driving. All Michelin radial tires subjected to competitive driving on dry pavement should be shaved to racing depth (l/2 tread).
All Michelin radial tires subjected to competitive driving on wet pavement should have at least 1/4" tread depth.
All Michelin radial tires subjected to competitive driving should be inspected frequently.
