Curb Height and Design Height

DESCRIPTION
There are two different vehicle suspension heights that can be measured on this vehicle. They are Curb Height and Design Height. Curb height is to be measured before a wheel alignment is performed. If the curb height is not within specifications, then the design height must be measured.

CURB HEIGHT
Before performing a wheel alignment on the vehicle, the vehicle must be at its proper curb height. Curb height is the vehicle's height when:
- it has a full tank of fuel;
- all fluids filled to their proper levels; and
- no passengers or additional weight have been added to the vehicle.
Curb height is adjustable. Refer to Service Procedures for the proper procedure.

DESIGN HEIGHT
Design height is set during factory production. Design height is the height the vehicle is at when all rubber bushing-mounted components of the vehicle's suspension system are tightened and torqued to specification.
Design height must be correctly set after any rubber bushing suspension component is reinstalled after servicing.
Rubber bushing-mounted suspension components must be tightened and torqued with the vehicle at the correct design height. Otherwise, curb height is affected. Improper curb height interferes with proper alignment of the vehicle.
Refer to Service Procedures for the proper procedure.
