Starting System: Service Precautions

WARNING:
- ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIR-BAGS, REFER TO AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS/AIR BAGS BEFORE ATTEMPTING STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

- CHECK TO ENSURE THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL WITH THE PARKING BRAKE APPLIED.

CAUTION:
- Fuel and Ignition system must be disabled to prevent engine from starting while performing any of the tests.

- Do not overheat the starter motor or draw the battery voltage below 9.6 volts during cranking operations.
