Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection

Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge:

Test From Sensor to Gauge
1. Ignition switch in the ON position, engine not running, disconnect temperature sensor and the engine coolant temperature gauge should read cold.
2. Ignition switch in the ON position, engine not running, ground Pin 1 and the engine coolant temperature gauge should read maximum temperature. If OK, test engine temperature sensor. If not OK, repair as necessary.
