Differential Assembly: Description and Operation

DIFFERENTIAL GENERAL INFORMATION
This model is equipped with an all aluminum Dana (Model 44) rear axle. The final drive ratio is 3.07. All rear axles are equipped with a TRAC-LOK (clutch type) limited slip differential.
The axle is equipped with a special high strength ring and pinion. Should service ever be required, use only parts that are equal in quality to the original parts. Failure to do so could result in premature axle failure.

VEHICLE STORAGE/PROLONGED NON-OPERATION
If the vehicle has not been operated on a regular basis, it is recommended that the drivetrain be rotated. This should be done at least once every two weeks. The vehicle should be moved far enough to cause the drivetrain components to make several complete revolutions. This procedure will help assure that all internal components receive adequate amounts of lubrication. This will reduce deterioration caused by an undesirable environment (e.g. high humidity).
