Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect electrical connection from the motor.

3. Remove fan shroud assembly fasteners. Remove shroud assembly from radiator.

INSTALLATION
1. Install fan shroud assembly to radiator. Install retaining nuts. Tighten nuts to 6 Nm (50 inch lbs.).
2. Connect fan motor electrical connection.
3. Install air cleaner assembly.

FAN SHROUD
All vehicles have fan shrouds to improve fan air flow efficiency. The fan shroud has movable doors to prevent the shroud from restricting air flow at high speeds.
The shroud supports the electric fan motor and fan. Fan shroud is serviced only as a assembly with the motor and fan.
