Oil Pump Replacement
REMOVALIt is necessary to remove the oil pan, oil pickup and oil pump body to service the oil pump rotors. The oil pump pressure relief valve can be serviced by removing the oil pan.
1. Drain cooling system and remove fan module for access to timing belt covers and crankshaft damper.
2. Remove the accessory drive belts. Refer to Cooling System.
3. Remove the crankshaft damper. Remove timing belt covers.
4. Remove timing belt.
5. Remove crankshaft sprocket. Refer to front oil seal.
6. Remove oil pan.
7. Remove oil pickup tube.

8. Remove oil pump fasteners and remove pump and gasket from engine.
INSTALLATION
1. Prime oil pump before installation by filling rotor cavity with engine oil.
2. Install gasket and oil pump carefully over the crankshaft and into position. Install and tighten bolts to:
- MS Bolts to 2X Nm (250 inch lbs.)
- M10 Bolts to 55 Nm (40 ft. lbs.)
3. Install new O-ring on oil pickup tube.
4. Install oil pickup tube.
5. Install oil pan.
6. Install crankshaft sprocket. Refer to front crankshaft oil seal.
7. Install timing belt.
8. Install the timing belt covers and vibration damper.
9. Install the accessory drive belts and fan module.
10. Fill cooling system. Refer to Cooling Systems .
