The reverse lock out solenoid is used to prevent the operator from shifting into reverse when vehicle speed is above 5 m.p.h. Power for the solenoid is supplied on circuit F12 from the 10 amp fuse located in cavity 10 of the fuse block. This fuse is HOT when the ignition switch is in the START and RUN position only.
Power for the fuse is supplied on circuit A21 from the ignition switch to the fuse block. Battery voltage for circuit A21 is supplied on circuit A1. The A1 circuit is protected by a 40 amp fuse located in cavity 19 of the Power Distribution Center (PDC).
Ground for the solenoid is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), on circuit K136. This circuit connects to cavity B21 of the PCM connector.
To energize the solenoid, the PCM provides a ground path for circuit K136.
