Tail Lamp: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATIONTail Lamps And Rear License Lamps
Circuit F34 connects from the Power Distribution Center (PDC), cavity 11, to the headlamp switch. The F34 circuit is protected by a 20 amp fuse.
The headlamp switch has three positions: OFF, PARK (parking lamps) and ON, plus a dimmer switch. When the headlamp switch is in the PARK or ON position, the switch connects circuit F34 to circuit L7, through circuit E1 at the fuse block. From the fuse block, circuit L7 branches to power the front parking lamps and rear tail lamps, side marker lamps, and rear license plate lamps.
Ground Circuit
Circuit Z1 provides a ground for the parking lamps, tail lamps, and rear license plate lamps. The grounding point for circuit Z1 is different for each of the lamps.
