Compressor Clutch Inoperative

CLUTCH INOPERATIVE
The air conditioning compressor clutch electrical circuit is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM is located in the engine compartment on the right side of the toe box.

If the compressor clutch does not engage -- Verify refrigerant charge.

If the compressor clutch still does not engage check for battery voltage at the Dual Pressure Cut Off switch.
- The switch is located on the expansion valve.
- If voltage is not detected, refer to the Electrical Diagrams and the appropriate Powertrain System Diagnostic Procedures.

If voltage is detected at the cut off switch, reconnect switch. Then check for battery voltage between the compressor clutch connector terminals.

If voltage is detected, perform A/C Clutch Coil Tests.
