Rough/High Idle

MODELS:

1997 (SR) Viper

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO ALL VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO NOVEMBER 18, 1997 (MDH 11-18-XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Rough or high engine idle at all engine temperatures.

DIAGNOSIS:

Using the Mopar Diagnostic System (MDS) or the Diagnostic Scan Tool (DRB III) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures Manual, verify all engine/transmission systems are functioning as designed. If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) are present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. If low vacuum faults are present, or a visual inspection of the intake manifold gasket (between the ports) reveals wrinkled gasket material, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves replacing the intake manifold gasket.

1. Remove and replace the intake manifold gasket following the procedure in the 1997 Viper Service Manual (Publication No. 81-270-7150) beginning on page 11-5.

POLICY:

Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
