Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT OPERATIONThe Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is supplied power from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on circuit K6/K7. The K6 circuit connects to cavity 31 of the PCM.
The vehicle speed signal is an output of the VSS on circuit G7. The G7 circuit connects from the VSS to the PCM (cavity 28).
The PCM processes the vehicle speed sensor signal and sends a signal to the speedometer on circuit G17 indicating vehicle speed. Description and Operation
The PCM provides a ground path for the VSS signal (circuit G7) through circuit K4. Circuit K4 connects to cavity 43 of the PCM connector.
