Fog/Driving Lamp: Description and Operation

CIRCUIT OPERATION
The fog lamps are controlled by the fog lamp switch and headlamp relay The fog lamps operate only when the headlamp switch is in the ON position, and the operator has selected low-beam operation. When the headlamps are in high-beam operation, the fog lamps will not operate.

Circuit A3 supplies voltage to the headlamp switch. When the headlamp switch is in the ON position, circuit L2 splices to supply power to the headlamp fuses and the headlamp relay, coil and contact sides.

Ground for the headlamp relay is supplied on circuit Z1. When the headlamps are ON, the contacts in the relay CLOSE connecting circuits L2 and L33. The L33 circuit connects to the optical horn/headlamp dimmer switch, LOW beam side.

From the switch, circuit L4 connects to the fuse block and powers fuse 2, a 20 Amp. This fuse is HOT when the headlamp are in the ON position only

On the other side of the fuse, circuits F37 and L4 connect to the fog lamp switch. These circuits power the switch contacts and the illumination lamp.

When the operator turns the fog lamps ON, circuits L4 and L39 are connected. Circuit L39 splices and connects to the fog lamps. Ground for the fog lamp switch is provided on circuit Z1. And ground for the fog lamps is provided on circuit Z1.
