Removal
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.2. Perform fuel system pressure release and fuel rail purge procedure, Before attempting any repairs. Refer to Powertrain Management.
3. Remove intake air temperature sensor electrical connector from air cleaner. Remove throttle body hoses and air cleaner assembly.
4. Remove throttle cable.
5. Disconnect PCV and canister purge hose harness bundle. Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) wiring connectors from intake manifold.
6. Remove brake booster hose from air intake plenum.
7. Disconnect Idle Air Control (IAC) motor electrical and hose connection.
8. Remove cowl cover. Refer to Body and Frame.
9. Disconnect the electrical connectors at the ignition coils.
10. Disconnect the two electrical connectors on the left rear plenum.
11. Remove the fuel hose quick connect fitting from the fuel line. Use an open end wrench to push in on the plastic ring located on the end of the fitting. Gently pull the fitting from the fuel rail.
WARNING: Wrap a shop towel around hose to catch any gasoline spillage.
12. Remove intake manifold bolts. Lift the front of intake manifold and pull forward to remove.
13. Cover intake manifold with suitable cover when servicing.
