Cleaning and Inspection

CLEANING
Clean oil pan in solvent and wipe dry with a clean cloth. Clean all gasket material from mounting surfaces of pan and block. Remove oil pan baffle and screen. Clean passage from oil pick-up to oil pump inlet.

INSPECTION
1. Inspect oil drain plug and plug hole for stripped or damaged threads and repair as necessary. Tighten to 33 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
2. Inspect oil pan mounting flange for gouges or distortion.
3. Remove oil pan baffle and screen and inspect for cracks. Clean oil screen in clean solvent.
