Temperature Gauge: Description and Operation

CIRCUIT OPERATION
Power for the engine coolant temperature gauge is supplied on circuit G5. This circuit is spliced and supplies power to all the gauges. Ground for the engine coolant temperature gauge is provided on circuit Z1. This circuit is spliced and supplies ground for the speedometer, tachometer, engine oil pressure gauge, and the voltmeter.

The engine coolant temperature gauge changes the coolant temperature reading based on the resistance to ground through the engine coolant temperature sending unit on circuit G20.
