Repair Procedure
This bulletin involves painting and sealing the underside of the roof panel.1. Remove both sun visors by removing the two attaching screws per visor.
2. Open the liftgate glass.
3. Remove the right and left lower quarter trim panel.
4. Remove the trunk panel.
5. Support the liftgate glass and disconnect the right and left rear glass shocks at the quarter panel to allow for the quarter panel removal.
6. Remove the right upper quarter trim panel retaining screws and separate the seal from the panel.
7. Remove the right upper quarter trim panel.
8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 for the left quarter trim panel.
9. Remove the head liner push-in fasteners and screws.
10. Disconnect the map lamp wiring and remove the head liner from the vehicle.
11. Cover and protect the carpet, seats, instrument panel, and the backlite hardware to prevent paint damage.
12. Using a paint brush, coat the entire underside of the roof panel with two coats of primer. Allow the primer to dry for a minimum of 24 hours. This will cure the primer and remove the paint solvent odor.
13. Spray the expandable foam into the openings at the upper B-pillar and in the front header map lamp clearance holes.
14. After the foam solidifies, trim the expanded foam at the map lamp openings to provide clearance for the lamps when installed.
15. Remove the protective covers installed in step 11.
16. Install the head liner and connect the map lamp wiring.
17. Install the head liner push-in fasteners and screws.
18. Install the left and right upper quarter trim panels, and ensure that the seal is in place against the trim panel before installing retaining screws.
19. Connect the left and right rear glass shock.
20. Install the trunk panel.
21. Install the right and left lower quarter trim panel.
22. Install the right and left sun visors and attaching screws.
