Resin Odor In Vehicle

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO THE GTS COUPE ONLY.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

A strong resin type odor in the vehicle.

DIAGNOSIS:

Allow the vehicle to sit with windows up and doors closed for 30 minutes. The vehicle may be parked inside or out; however, the odor may be more apparent in warm temperatures. Open the door and sit in the vehicle. If a strong resin odor is present, perform the Repair Procedure.

NOTE:
THIS PROCEDURE WILL NOT ELIMINATE THE RESIN SMELL; IT WILL ONLY REDUCE THE LEVEL. THIS MUST BE EXPLAINED TO THE CUSTOMER PRIOR TO PERFORMING THE REPAIR PROCEDURE.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

^ AKZO Primer Surfacer EP # 1023 and Activator # 4013. If material is unavailable locally, contact Sikken Auto Refinishing at 1-800-618-1010.

^ Urethane Expandable Spray Foam (Similar to Polycel Brand Insulating Foam, found at hardware/building supply stores).

CAUTION:
THIS REPAIR MUST BE COMPLETED IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA SUCH AS A SPRAY BOOTH, AND AN OSHA APPROVED RESPIRATOR MUST BE WORN.

POLICY: Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
