Trunk / Liftgate Latch: Service and Repair

Trunk Latch:

TRUNK LATCH REMOVAL
1. Using a suitable drill with a 3 mm (0.125 in.) drill bit, remove pop rivets holding release remote to trunk lid.
2. Separate remote from trunk lid.
3. Using a scribe, lightly mark the outline of the latch on trunk lid to assist installation.
4. Remove bolts holding latch to trunk lid.
5. Separate latch from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
Reverse the preceding operation. Align trunk latch the achieve proper latching effort and weatherstrip compression.

Trunk Latch Striker:

TRUNK LATCH STRIKER REMOVAL
1. Release trunk latch and open trunk lid.
2. Support trunk lid on prop rod.
3. Remove bolts holding trunk latch striker to trunk tail panel.
4. Separate striker from vehicle.
5. Reverse the preceding operation for installation.
