Rear Glass Strut Switch Alignment
1. Open the rear hatch.2. Loosen the two strut switch screws nearest the strut attachment to the body. Figure 1.
3. Slide the switch 2 inches toward the strut cylinder, then lightly tighten the two strut switch screws.
4. Close the rear hatch to set the switch position.
5. Open the rear hatch and completely tighten the 2 strut switch screws.
6. Verify proper hood switch and rear hatch switch operation by repeating the vehicle security system diagnostics given in the Diagnostic section of this Technical Service Bulletin.
7. After verifying proper operation, perform the following test.
^ Close the hood, doors and rear hatch.
^ Set the alarm system and wait approximately 30 seconds for the alarm to arm.
^ With the alarm system fully armed, lift the hood slightly from the right hand wheel opening. Exert only enough pressure to lift the hood approximately 1/4" to 3/8". The alarm should not sound, if the alarm sounds the hood switch adjustment procedure steps 5 through 8 should be repeated until this test can be performed without the alarm sounding.
