Hood Switch Inspection Procedure

To determine if the hood switch is misadjusted, inspect the under hood switch. If either of the following is found, perform the repair procedure.

^ The bottom of the rubber bumper which contacts the hood support frame is near the upper surface of the support bracket.

^ The switch is near its lowest position, less than 1/4" of the body switch protrudes above the support collar which holds the switch into the support bracket.

If the hood switch alignment is correct refer to the procedure given in the 1996 Viper Coupe Body Diagnostic Manual (Publication No. 81-699-96029), beginning on page 140.
