Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

Power Steering Switch Location:

PURPOSE
The Power Steering load switch provides a signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM) when there is steering load. The ECM uses this information for idle speed control. When pump output pressure exceeds a preset level, the switch closes, completing the circuit to ground.

LOCATION
The Power Steering Load Switch is located on the power steering pump.
