Fuel Injector Removal/Installation:






WARNING: Release fuel pressure prior to opening fuel system.

REMOVAL
1. Power steering oil pressure switch connector
2. Heated oxygen sensor connector
3. Intake air temperature sensor connector
4. Injector connectors
5. Control wiring harness
6. Fuel plate
7. 0-ring
8. Fuel pipe
9. 0-rings

CAUTION: Handle injectors with care in the following step -- do not drop them.

10. Remove fuel rail with injectors attached.

INSTALLATION

Fuel Injector Installation Service Point:






3. Injectors
a. Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the 0-ring.

CAUTION: Do not let the engine oil get into the fuel rail.

b. While turning the injector to the left and right, install it to the fuel rail.
c. Check to be sure that the injector turns smoothly. If it does not turn smoothly, the C-ring may be trapped, remove the injector and then re-insert it into the fuel rail and check once again.

CAUTION: Handle injectors with care in the following step -- do not drop them.

6. Install fuel rail -- with injectors attached.

Fuel Plate:






10. Fuel plate
a. Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to a new C-ring and insert it to the fuel rail carefully.

CAUTION: Do not let the engine oil get into the fuel rail.

b. If the fuel plate does not move smoothly, the 0-ring may be folded. Then, remove the fuel plate to check the C-ring for damage.
c. Tighten the bolts to 9 Nm (6.5 ft lb).

16. Pressurize system and check for leaks.
