Reverse Lockout Solenoid

The reverse lock out solenoid is used to prevent the operator from shifting into reverse when vehicle. Speed is above 5 mph. Power for the solenoid is supplied on circuit A21 from the 30 amp fuse located in cavity 9 of the fuse block. This fuse is HOT when the ignition switch is in the RUN position only.

Power for the fuse is supplied on circuit A38 from the ignition switch to the fuse block. Battery voltage for circuit A38 is supplied on circuit A1 from the auxiliary jumper post located on the left toe box. This circuit is protected by a fusible link.

Ground for the solenoid is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), on circuit K136. This circuit connects to cavity 36 of the PCM connector.

To energize the solenoid, the PCM provides a ground path for circuit K136.
