Repair Procedure

This bulletin involves the repair to the speed sensor wire harness.

1. Record all Radio pre-sets.

2. Hoist vehicle.

3. Remove the left rear wheel and tire assembly.

4. Remove and isolate the negative battery cable.

5. Remove the 12 bolts to the plate under transmission and remove.

6. Disconnect the wire harness from the speed sensor.

7. Cut the chaffed wire(s).

8. Strip the insulation off the end of each wire on the wire harness approximately 1".

9. Slide a piece of heat shrink tubing onto each wire of the connector wiring.

10. Connect the two pieces of wire by twisting the ends together.

11. Solder twisted wire ends using rosin core solder.

12. Slide down the pieces of heat shrink tubing to cover each splice. Be careful to center each splice inside the tubing. Heat the tubing to shrink and seal the splice. Use the approved air heat gun only.

13. Cover the speed sensor wires with 1/4" convolute. The convolute should extend from the connector to the area of the wiring harness that is already covered with protective tape.

14. Tape both ends of the convolute so that it will stay securely in place.

15. Install the transmission plate.

16. Connect the negative battery cable and install the left rear wheel and tire assembly.

17. Lower the vehicle and set all radio pre-sets recorded in Step 1.

18. Test drive vehicle and verify proper speedometer and odometer operation.
