WSS Static Continuity/Dynamic Continuity

NAME OF CODE:
RR WSS Static Continuity
LR WSS Static Continuity
RF WSS Static Continuity
LF WSS Static Continuity
RR WSS Dynamic Continuity
LR WSS Dynamic Continuity
RF WSS Dynamic Continuity
RF WSS Dynamic Continuity

WHEN MONITORED:
The static test is conducted after the power up tests are complete and before the vehicle speed is above 5 MPH. The dynamic test is conducted after the power up tests are complete and after the vehicle speed is above 5 MPH. The sensor continuity status is sampled every 5 ms.

SET CONDITION:
Each wheel is equipped with a metal tone wheel with a number of evenly spaced teeth. A Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS) generates a small AC signal as each tooth passes the sensor face. The Controller, Anti-lock Brake (CAB) monitors the wheel speed signals every 5 ms. The trouble code is stored if sensor continuity is missing for over 35 ms

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- Open or high resistance wheel speed sensor
- Open wheel speed sensor (+) circuit
- Open wheel speed sensor (-) circuit
- Wheel speed sensor (+) circuit shorted to ground
- Wheel speed sensor (-) circuit shorted to ground
- Wheel speed sensor (+) circuit shorted to B(+)
- Wheel speed sensor (-) circuit shorted to B(+)
- Loose sensor connector terminals
- Disconnected sensor harness connectors
