Pump/Motor Relay Control Circuit

Pump/Motor Relay Control Circuit

WHEN MONITORED:
The test is conducted when the pump has been commanded off. The pump/ motor relay coil voltage is tested when the pump should be off.

SET CONDITION:
The pump/motor relay supplies the pump/motor 12v when it is commanded on by the Controller, Anti-lock Brake (CAB). The pump/motor relay coil is grounded through the CAB at cavity 16 and is supplied power from the system relay output circuit. The trouble code is stored when the coil voltage, as seen by the CAB at cavity 16, is below 6.5 volts when the relay should be on, or above 6.5 volts when the relay should be off.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:
- Open pump/motor relay coil
- Open pump/motor relay control circuit
- Loose or corroded connector terminals
- Pump/motor relay control circuit shorted to ground
- Pump/motor relay control circuit shorted to B(+)
- Pump/motor relay coil shorted
- Failed relay box
- Failed CAB
