Fuel Injector: Service and Repair
PRE-REMOVAL OPERATION
1. Relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect battery and remove the air intake hose.
NOTE: The step numbers correspond to the numbers in the image.
REMOVAL
1. High-pressure fuel hose connection
CAUTION: Do not let the engine oil get into the fuel rail.
2. Remove 0-ring.
3. Fuel return hose connection
4. Vacuum hose connection
5. Injector harness connector
6. Remove the fuel rail (with the injectors attached to it).
CAUTION: Do not drop the injectors.

14. 0-ring
13. Fuel pressure regulator:
a. Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to a new O-ring and insert it to the fuel rail carefully.
CAUTION: Do not let the engine oil get into the fuel rail.
b. If the fuel pressure regulator does not move smoothly, the O-ring may be folded. Then, remove the regulator to check the O-ring for damage.
12. Snap ring
11. 0-rings
10. 0-rings
9. Injectors:
a. Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the O-ring.
CAUTION: Do not let the engine oil get into the fuel rail.
b. While turning the injector to the left and right, install it to the fuel rail.
c. Check to be sure that the injector turns smoothly. If it does not turn smoothly, the O-ring may be trapped, remove the injector and then reinsert it into the fuel rail and check again.

7. Injector connectors
6. Remove the fuel rail (with the injectors attached to it.)
5. Injector harness connector
4. Vacuum hose connection
3. Fuel return hose connection
2. Remove 0-ring.
1. High-pressure fuel hose connection: When connecting the high pressure fuel hose to the fuel rail, apply a small amount of engine oil to the hose union, and then insert, being careful not to damage the O-ring.
CAUTION: Do not let the engine oil get into the fuel rail.
POST-INSTALLATION OPERATION
1. Connect battery and install Air Intake Hose.
2. Pressurize system and inspect for Fuel Leaks.
