DTC 44 Inspection Procedure:

Battery/SDU Disconnect:

1. Turn the ignition key to the "LOCK" position, disconnect the negative ballery cable and tape the terminal.

Caution:
Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the banery cable before doing any further work. (Service Precautions.)



2. Remove the floor console assembly. (Refer to GROUP 23A - Floor Console.)


3. Place a flat-tipped screwdriver against the lock spring at the lock lever notch and push the spring toward the unit.

Caution:
Do not use excessive force to raise the lock lever (green).


DIAGNOSIS:
If the results of inspection of the SRS warning light circuit system (refer to DTC 43-Lamp Does Not Switch Off) are normal, the transistor inside the SDU is probably defective, so replace the SDU.
