Programming the SAM Transmitter
If a second key fob transmitter is purchased, it will be necessary to program the receiver to accept the codes of both transmitters. The procedure is listed below:The transmitter is packaged in a protective envelope. DO NOT remove the transmitter from the envelope. The buttons may be pressed through the envelope.
^ Locate the PROGRAM line next to the SAM and RKE modules. Connect one end of a jumper wire to the program line, then connect the other end of the jumper wire to ground.
^ Press and release the arm or disarm button on either of the SAM transmitters. The module then recognizes the first transmitter's signal.
^ Press and release the arm or disarm button on the second SAM transmitter. The module then recognizes the second transmitter's signal.
^ Verify that the security alarm can be armed and disarmed by both of the transmitters.
If an owner does not like the horn "chip" function it may be disabled as follows:
^ Turn the ignition to the ON position.
^ Locate the PROGRAM line next to the SAM and RKE modules. The program line is a green wire with a red tracer that terminates in a black bullet connector.
^ Using a jumper wire, connect the PROGRAM line to ground.
^ Operate the transmitter with a single depression of either key to store the transmitter access code.
^ If a second transmitter is also used, repeat the previous step using the second transmitter.
^ Press "arm," then "disarm," transmitter buttons on one transmitter. Repeat this procedure two more times.
^ Remove the "PROGRAM" wire from ground to restore normal operation. Move the program wire to its original position.
To reinstate the horn chirp, perform the above procedure again.
