Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner and tube assemblies.
2. Remove drive belt.





3. Remove crankshaft pulley.





4. Remove vibration damper.





5. Using Tool C-4679-A, or equivalent to remove oil seal. Be careful not to damage the crankshaft seal surface of cover.





INSTALLATION
1. Install new seal by using Tool MD 998306, or equivalent.
2. Place seal into opening with seal spring towards the inside of engine. Install seal until flush with cover.





3. Install vibration damper.
4. Install crankshaft pulley.
5. Install drive belt.
6. Install air cleaner and tube assemblies.
