WARNING: Disable airbag, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair before performing the following operation.
1. Relieve fuel system pressure, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
2. Mark and remove hood assembly.
3. Disconnect and remove cruise control pump and link assembly.
4. Drain cooling system.
5. Remove front exhaust pipes.
6. Remove transaxle, TRANSMISSIONS CLUTCHES DIFFERENTIALS AXLES AND DRIVE SHAFTS/MANUAL TRANSAXLE/COMPONENT R&R PROCEDURES/MANUAL TRANSAXLE.
7. Remove radiator assembly.
8. Remove engine assembly in order shown noting the following:
a. Disconnect power steering pump and A/C compressor with hoses attached. Support aside with rope or other suitable material.
b. Open relay box cover and disconnect alternator wiring harness.
c. Disconnect oil pressure gauge connector from sending unit located near the oil filter.
d. Remove engine mount, refer to ENGINE MOUNT.
e. Ensure all necessary electrical connections and hoses are disconnected and positioned out of the way.
f. Slowly raise engine assembly out of vehicle.
9. Reverse procedure to install, enabling airbag, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
