NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO STERLING HEIGHTS BUILT VEHICLES WITH BUILD DATES BETWEEN 3/24/93 (MDH 032422) AND 3/25/93 (MDH 032510). THESE VEHICLES CAN BE IDENTIFIED BY AN "N" IN THE ELEVENTH POSITION OF THE VIN. THIS REPAIR SHOULD BE PERFORMED ON ALL APPLICABLE VEHICLES IN DEALER INVENTORY BEFORE THEY ARE DELIVERED TO THE CUSTOMER. CUSTOMER VEHICLES THAT ARE IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR ANY OTHER REASON SHOULD ALSO HAVE THIS REPAIR PERFORMED.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Water leaks past the left front door opening weatherstrip and runs along the left scuff plate and accumulates in the left rear floor area.

PARTS REQUIRED:

The Vinyl Tubing used in this bulletin is available through local hardware or builders supply stores.

AR Mopar General Purpose Lube 4549626

AR Mopar Foamy Glass Cleaner 4318014

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves inserting a piece of vinyl tubing inside the left front door opening weatherstrip.



1. Using a utility knife or side cutters, cut one end of the vinyl tubing at a 45~ angle. This will ease in the installation of the tubing through the weatherstrip vent hole.





2. Lubricate the inside of the left door weatherstrip by spraying Mopar General Purpose Lube (or equivalent) through the specified vent hole. Insert the entire 8" length of vinyl tubing downward through the vent hole in the weatherstrip. (See Illustration)

3. Spray Mopar Foamy Glass Cleaner on the outside surface of the door weatherstrip and close the door. Open the door and check for an even contact pattern on the left front door.
