Service Procedure

SERVICE PROCEDURE VIDEOTAPE

No videotape of the service procedure for this recall will be provided.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

A. REPLACE EVAPORATIVE CANISTER:

1. Remove the three coolant reserve bottle bolts and set the bottle aside.
2. Disconnect the vapor and purge hoses from the evaporative canister which is located under the coolant bottle.
3. Remove the two canister bracket bolts and discard the canister and bracket assembly.
4. Install the supplied canister bracket using the provided bolts. Tighten to 8 ft lbs (12 Nm).
5. Install the new canister in the bracket and connect the vapor and purge hoses.

Note:





Be sure to note location of all hoses and install hoses onto new canister as shown in Figure 1.

6. Reinstall the coolant reserve bottle. Tighten bolts to 8 ft lbs (12 Nm).

B. INSTALL RECALL COMPLETION LABEL:

1. With a ball point pen, print your dealer code (5 digits) on the supplied Recall Completion Label.
2. Peel the label from its backing and apply it near the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label on the underside of the hood.

C. COMPLETE PROOF OF CORRECTION FORM:

1. Complete a Vehicle Emission Recall Proof of Correction Form and supply it to the vehicle owner.
