Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection
Checking Resistance Of The Fuel Injectors:
1. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
2. Measure the resistance between the injector terminals for each injector.
Refer to SPECIFICATIONS/ELECTRICAL.
NOTE: Measuring the resistance for the injectors on the rear bank (# 2,# 4, and # 6) can be done through the injector connector.
Rear Bank Fuel Injector Connector For Turbo:
3. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connector.
4. Measure the resistance between the injector terminals.
For injector # 2 connect an ohmmeter between the connector terminals # 1 and # 4.
For injector # 4 connect an ohmmeter between the connector terminals # 2 and # 5.
For injector # 6 connect an ohmmeter between the connector terminals # 3 and # 6.
Refer to SPECIFICATIONS/ELECTRICAL.
5. Reconnect the electrical connectors.
If the resistance is not within specifications, replace the injector(s).
FUEL INJECTION RESISTOR
Fuel Injector Resistor (DOHC-Turbo):
1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the resistor.
Fuel Injector Resistor Test Points:
2. Measure the resistance from each terminal to terminal # 4.
Refer to SPECIFICATIONS/ELECTRICAL.
3. If the resistance is not within specification, replace the resistor.
