SUBJECT:
Headlamp Condensation

MODELS:

1989 - 1994 (AA) Spirit/Acclaim/LeBaron Sedan

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Condensation droplets form in the headlamp assembly(s).

DIAGNOSIS:

Visually inspect the headlamp assemblies for condensation. If present, perform the repair procedure.

PARTS REQUIRED:

2 4676351 Vent

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves installing vents in to the headlamp assemblies.

1. Using the procedure outlined in the appropriate service manual, ie., page 8L-5 of the 1994 Lebaron, Spirit, Acclaim, Shadow, Sundance Service Manual (Publication No. 81-270-4101) remove the headlamp bulb.

NOTE:
DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB WITH YOUR BARE HANDS OR GET OIL OF ANY KIND ON THE GLASS OF THE BULB. EARLY FAILURE OF THE BULB WILL RESULT.





2. Measure and mark the point 3/4 in. (18 mm) forward of the center of the up/down adjuster, refer to the illustration in this bulletin.

3. Drill a 1/4 in. (6.5 mm) hole at the point marked in step 2.

4. Remove the plastic shavings from the drilling operation.

5. Position the vent over the hole drilled in step 3 and press in place.

6. Reinstall the bulb and wiring.

7. Repeat steps 1-6 for the other headlamp.
