Oil Pan

1. Drain engine oil and remove oil pan.
2. Clean oil pan and all gasket surfaces.

Oil Pan Rail (To Block) Sealing

For 2.5L engines side gaskets are employed for rail sealing.
For 2.2L engines rail "gaskets" are formed in place with RTV. Standard Procedures

Installation





1. Apply RTV to the pan rail and at the front seal retainer parting line on the 2.5L engine.
2. Install the oil pan side gaskets to the block (2.5L engine). Use heavy grease or RTV to hold in place.
3. Apply RTV to "ends" of new oil pan end seals at junction of end seal retainer and cylinder block pan rail (2.2L engine) or cylinder block pan rail gasket (2.5L engine).





4. Install pan and tighten screws to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.).
