NS-13B Checking SMEC Ground Circuit

Complete No Start Test 13, Step A before proceeding.

1. With the ignition switch Off, disconnect the 60-way connector from the SMEC.
2. Connect one lead of an ohmmeter to the system ground eyelet, then touch the other lead of the ohmmeter to terminal No. 15 and 16 of the 60-way connector.
3. If ohmmeter shows continuity with less than .5 ohm of resistance in both wires, replace the SMEC.
4. If ohmmeter shows more than .5 ohm of resistance at one or both wires, repair ground circuit for high resistance to ground eyelet.
5. If ohmmeter shows no continuity, repair wires for an open circuit to the wiring harness splice. If no open is found, replace the SMEC.
