Fig. 38 Inhibitor switch test. 1988-1989:

1. Disconnect inhibitor switch connector.
2. Operate selector lever and check continuity between terminals 8 and 9 of inhibitor switch side connector on 1988-1989 models.
3. Continuity should exist with selector lever in P and N position, but should not exist with selector lever in R position.
