Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation
The TPS is a rotating type variable resistor that rotates together with the injection mixer throttle shaft to sense the throttle valve with the injection mixer throttle shaft to sense the throttle valve angle. As the throttle shaft rotates, the output voltage of the TPS changes and the ECU detects the throttle valve opening based on the change of the voltage. Based on this output voltage, the ECU computes the throttle valve opening change and judges the engine acceleration/deceleration state and accordingly corrects the amount of fuel injected.
