Power Window Switch: Testing and Inspection
To test the window switches, remove the switches from the center console and remove the wiring harness from the back of the switches. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position. Connect a test light between the TN (or RD) wire and the GY (or BK) wire. If the test light does not come on or is dim, check the circuit breaker and the wiring to the switches. To test the right window switch, connect jumper wires between the TN (or RD) and DG wires and the GY (or BK) and VT wires. This should make the right window go down.[1] reversing the wires should make the window go up. If the window does not operate properly, check the window motor and wiring.
To test the left window switch, connect jumper wires between the TN (or RD) and DG* wires and the GY (or BK) and VT* wires. This should make the left window go down.[1] reversing the wires should make the window go up. If the window does not operate properly, check the window motor and wiring.
Remarks
[1] If the window is already in either the full up or full down positions, it will not move any further in that direction.
