ADJUSTMENT CONDITION:
A. Cooling water temperature - 85 to 95°C (185 to 205°F).
B. All lights and accessories are OFF.
C. Transaxle in Neutral.
D. Electric fan for radiator OFF (disconnect cooling fan connector).
E. Parking brake apply.
F. On vehicles with power steering, set the tires in the straight ahead position to prevent the pump from being loaded. Set the steering wheel in the stationary position.
1. Make sure curb idle speed is within the specified speed (500 to 800 rpm for the first 300 miles or 600 to 800 rpm after 300 miles) and reset it by readjusting the idle speed adjusting screw No. 1 SAS-1, Fig. 4, if necessary.
2. Apply an electrical load or power-steering load and check the throttle opener set engine speed (throttle opener set engine speed = 700 to 800 rpm), if the speed is not as prescribed, adjust by turning the throttle opener adjustment screw.
3. Switch the air conditioning system ON.
4. Check the engine speed at increased idling (engine speed at increased idling = 800 to 900 rpm); if the speed is not as prescribed, adjust by turning the vacuum-actuator adjustment screw. Fig. 8.
NOTE: Turn ON/OFF air conditioner switch several times to check the vacuum-actuator for operation.
