SYMPTOM/CONDITION

Long crank time after 10 to 20 minutes engine off hot soak. Engine may crank in excess of 8 to 10 seconds before starting.

RESOLUTION

Customers reporting the above symptom should be instructed to modify their hot restarting procedure to the following:

1. Place key in ignition.

2. Depress accelerator pedal all the way to the floor (wide open throttle) and hold it down.

3. Turn key and crank engine until engine starts running and release key and accelerator pedal simultaneously.

Using this modified hot restarting procedure the engine should start within approximately 3 seconds.
