Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

1. Remove air cleaner and position No. 1 cylinder at top dead center compression stroke.
2. Disconnect fuel lines from fuel pump.
3. Remove fuel pump mounting bolts or nuts, then the fuel pump.
4. Remove fuel pump pushrod, if equipped.
5. Remove fuel pump insulator and gaskets.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten fuel pump mounting bolts or nuts alternately and evenly.
