Fig. 30 Adjusting Valve Clearance:

1. Turn crankshaft until recessed mark on crankshaft pulley is aligned with indicator mark on timing belt cover, Fig. 31.
2. Check to see if valve rocker arms of No. 1 cylinder are free or pushed up. Using thickness gauge and table, Fig. 32, adjust valve clearances, Fig. 30. to specifications.
3. Turn crankshaft 360 degrees. Adjust unadjusted valve clearances.
