DTC C05 Estimated Wheel Accel Sensor Circuit Malfunction
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) C05
ESTIMATED WHEEL ACCELERATION SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION
Circuit Description
The acceleration sensor provides a voltage signal that changes in relation to the acceleration of vehicle. The signal voltage will vary from about 0.5 to 4.5 volt.e0m The ICSM use this voltage to control damping force.
Diagnosis
This procedure checks for a malfunctioning estimated wheel acceleration sensor, a short to ground or to voltage in the wiring, or a contact problem in a connector.
Cause(s)
- The estimated wheel acceleration sensor is defective or disconnected
- There is a problem in the wiring
- Loose sensor, loose contact.
- Driving with high speed on very bad roads.
Fail Action
ICS action is disabled and ICS warning lamp is ON.
Test Description
2. This step checks the voltage reference from the ICSM and also the ground wire to the ICSM.
4. This step check the vertical acceleration sensor for internal defect.
Diagnostic Aids
Be sure that the acceleration sensor wiring is properly routed and retained.
It is very important to perform a thorough inspection of the wiring and the connectors carefully and completely may result in misdiagnosis, causing part replacement with the reappearance of the malfunction.
You can use the scan tool to monitor vertical acceleration sensor during a road test. Watch the vertical acceleration sensor being displayed on the scan tool to see if any of the readings is unusual.
