Condition

Some customers may comment on a fluid leak. Upon further inspection, the technician may find coolant leaking from the heater outlet hose.

Cause

This condition may be caused by the heater outlet hose being too long and making contact with the belt tensioner pulley.

Correction

Replace the heater outlet hose with GM P/N 15853836 and secure away from belt tensioner pulley. Install two new hose clamps, P/N 11517133. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (6.6L - without Bypass Valve) in SI. Then secure the heater hose to the lower radiator hose with a tie strap (1).
