Liftgate Wiring Harness Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Open the liftgate.
3. Remove the liftgate trim panel.
4. Remove the water deflector.
5. Remove the rear speakers from the liftgate.
6. Remove the high mounted stop lamp.
7. Remove the license plate lamps.
8. Lower the rear of the headliner to access the body harness to the liftgate harness electrical connector.
9. Disconnect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
10. Remove the rear washer hose.
11. Remove the rear corner upper garnish moldings.




12. Disconnect liftgate wiring harness connectors (2) from the rear body wiring harness (3).




13. Disconnect the following electrical connectors and harness clips from the liftgate panel.

* Harness retainer (1)
* Wiper motor connector (2)
* Harness retainer (3)
* Harness clip (4)
* Harness clips (5)
* License plate lamp sockets (6)
* Pink tape used for visual aid (7)
* Harness clip (8)
* Liftgate latch electrical connectors (9)
* Green tape used for visual aid (10)
* Harness clips (11)
* Wiper motor harness clip to liftgate (12)
* Speaker electrical connector (13)
* Harness clip (15)

14. Remove the electrical harness from the liftgate.

Installation Procedure

1. Route and position the electrical harness to the liftgate.




2. Connect the following electrical connectors and harness clips to the liftgate.

* Harness retainer (1)
* Wiper motor connector (2)
* Harness retainer (3)
* Harness clip (4)
* Harness clips (5)
* License plate lamp sockets (6)
* Pink tape used for visual aid (7)
* Harness clip (8)
* Liftgate latch electrical connectors (9)
* Green tape used for visual aid (10)
* Harness clips (11)
* Wiper motor harness clip to liftgate (12)
* Speaker electrical connector (13)
* Harness clip (15)




3. Connect liftgate wiring harness connectors (2) to the rear body wiring harness (3).
4. Install the rear corner upper garnish moldings.
5. Install the rear washer hose.
6. Connect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
7. Install the headliner that was lowered.
8. Install the license plate lamps.
9. Install the high mounted stop lamp.
10. Install the rear speakers to the liftgate.
11. Install the water deflector.
12. Install the liftgate trim panel.
13. Close the liftgate.
14. Connect the battery negative cable.
15. Re-initialize the power sliding door.
