Sliding Door Striker: Service and Repair
Rear Side Door Lock Striker Replacement - Rear
Removal Procedure
Important: By removing the power sliding door (PSD) 15A fuse, the low current logic power for both the LH and RH power sliding door modules (PSDM) will be interrupted and both PSDs will be inoperative.
1. If equipped with a power sliding door, disable the PSD system by removing the PSD 15A fuse from the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block.
2. Open the sliding door.
3. Remove the sliding door striker screws.
4. Remove the sliding door striker and the shim from the C-pillar.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the sliding door striker and the shim to the C-pillar.
Notice: refer to Fastener Notice.
Important:
* The striker is mounted through an oversized hole into a caged nut. This arrangement allows approximately 4 mm (0.15 in) of adjustment.
* If the striker does not properly engage the door lock, the door needs to be adjusted within the door frame. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- Sliding Rear Side Door Up/Down Adjustment
- Sliding Rear Side Door Front Edge In/Out Adjustment
- Sliding Rear Side Door Rear Edge In/Out Adjustment
* Use the striker in order to adjust the door for flushness. Do not use the striker in order to raise or lower the door.
* The latch should contact the center of the striker. If the latch to striker alignment is incorrect, add or remove shims as required in order to achieve proper alignment.
Install the sliding door striker screws.
Tighten the sliding door striker screws to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
Important: By installing the 15A fuse, the low current logic power will be restored to both the LH and RH PSDMs and the PSDs will be operational. However, both PSDMs will have to learn the full open and full closed positions of the PSD.
* If equipped with a power sliding door, enable the PSD system by installing the PSD 15A fuse into the I/P fuse block.
